Music research using conventional digital music libraries

Some of the scores in this digital collection allow users to download a MusicXML file and, on video, listen to the score performed with virtual instruments.

While working on this project on Spanish musical theatre, the Library began a process of evaluating the technologies which would be needed to make its conventional digital music library architecture amenable to a more flexible environment, aimed at researchers and musicologists. Digital libraries are also growing so quickly that analysing them manually is becoming difficult.
